DroneUp is pleased to announce it is collaborating with SkyWatch.AI to provide on-demand, automated flight insurance coverage to Part 107 pilots when they execute commercial missions delivered in the DroneUp app. The liability coverage will be carried by DroneUp at no additional charge to its participating drone pilots. After notifying, verifying and accepting a job in the DroneUp app, pilots are two-clicks away from insurance coverage. Coverage includes property damage, bodily injury and privacy claims.
The use of drones has proven invaluable after storms for search and rescue, damage assessment, and gaining immediate situational awareness of conditions, not to mention routine data collection projects. “We are very appreciative of the Skywatch team working with DroneUp to protect our pilot network missions. Securing essential flight insurance provides even further risk mitigation for drone operations,” said Anthony Vittone, Chief Operating Officer for DroneUp.
“SkyWatch.AI is proud to provide DroneUp’s pilots a unique seamless insurance solution as an integral part of their mission planning process,” said Tomer Kashi, SkyWatch.AI CEO. “The innovative teams on both sides were able to utilize the flexibility of our platform and create tailor-made policies in seconds.”
Insurance integration begins today and accessible form the DroneUp app. Pilots are also welcome to download the Skywatch.AI app in the App Store and on Google Play.
DroneUp and Skywatch urge all drone pilots to take proper precautions, follow FAA regulations and maintain their drones to operational standards.
