When a drone is far away, your eyes will have difficulty in determining when the drone is going “forward” or “back,” because the distance between your eyes is a very small “baseline.” However, your eyes are very good at determining angular location. Thus, move your joystick in one direction to see whether the drone can be seen moving left or right. I keep moving the joystick in different directions until the drone moves to the left. Then, I check the opposite side of the joystick to see if the drone moves right. You can then easily figure out which way to push the joystick for the drone to return to your location. In this situation, I rotate the drone so that “back” returns the drone to me. (You can use many other methods to suit yourself.)
