Good video and discussion.
The human eye has difficulty determining the distance of an object, primarily because the “base line” (for triangulation), the distance between the eyes, is only a few inches in length. However, the eye is very good at determining angle. Thus, having a drone to the left of the face of a cliff (as mentioned in the video) means that the angular distance, and thus the absolute distance, can be more easily determined by the human eye.
